So here is my picture. It is one that I pinned a while ago, but I just love it and the idea behind it and it is definitely something that I want to do with the boys, not for Fathers Day but just as a picture for the wall. I will probably get the boys to write their names in (the little two will have help) and just date it, so we have it as a momentum of 2012.

So now it's your turn, find it,  pin it, share it!

Whiskas Review for Monster Pet Supplies

Pet Supplies - Monster Pet Supplies

The lovely people at Monster Pet Supplies, enlisted the help of my beautiful boys to help review some products from Whiskas.
When I say my "beautiful boys" I am obviously talking about the three furry ones and not my kids!
They sent me a gorgeous package, in a beautiful box, that consisted of four different items.

  • Two packets of Whiskas Adult Bite and Chew Cat Food - Chicken Flavour.
  • Two packets of Whiskas Adult Cat Food - 1x Salmon and 1x Prawn Flavour.
  • Two bottles of Cat Milk.
  • One packet of Dreamies Cat treats.
All of the Whiskas products can be found on their website here.

Our cats all eat together, out of the same bowl. In this sense they are not fussy, they all get along and rarely eat at the same time, so it works for us, though I know many cats wouldn't and would insist on their own bowls.

Ours are however fussy about what they eat.

We do not usually buy the sachets of cat food as with three cats this works out very expensive and we tend to go for own brand products or branded products that are on offer. So the sachets were something different for our three.

Indy was the first cat to try the sachets and is probably the least fussy of the three. I gave him one of the Bite and Chew Chicken flavour sachets and he devoured it instantly. The food itself had big chunks of meat in jelly, but the chunks were quite mushy, and compared to the tin food they normally have, had a better quantity of meat to jelly ratio. Indy loved it and when Albert came in for his food, I gave him the second sachet, which again was eaten readily (with help from Indy!)

I had also put down a bowl of the cat milk. Indy sniffed it, turned his nose up and walked away. Albert on the other hand went straight to it and started lapping it up. He has drunk a whole bottle to himself. Max our older cat also turned his nose up to this, both he and Indy prefer to drink the water in the dogs bowl! Bert, however was definitely impressed with it!

Max is our fussy cat. He won't eat meat flavoured food and much prefers fish, so I kept the adult salmon and prawn back for him! This had finer chunks of meat and more jelly (which Max likes!) and Max ate this straight away. The whole sachet went in one go! A definite hit with Max.

As for the Dreamies, these have been shared out between the three of them and each of the cats has loved them. These are great as treats or sprinkled on top of their meat or biscuits. If they are on the biscuits that they have they seem to be able to sniff these out and eat them first!

I would buy them the Bite and Chew sachets as a treat once in a while, but couldn't afford to make this their main meat source, at £3.89 per box of 12 for the fish selection, it just wouldn't be cost effective with three cats. A box would only last a couple of days but if it came in canned form we would definitely get it. I can see the sachets working as a treat once in a while. I will definitely be buying Albert the cat milk again as he did really enjoy this, but again I would do this as a treat rather than every week. The Dreamies will be on our shopping list next week, having looked at the Monster Pet Supplies website, I see they come in a variety of different flavours, so we may have to try a few and see who prefers what!

Monster Pet Supplies sent me my cats the above items free of charge for them to review. All reviews are their honest opinion! They really did love all of them, though the cat milk was not favoured by Max or Indy!

I love the colour of the water, the movement of the raindrops themselves. You get a real feeling of getting wet! I also love the light reflecting off the individual drops and the way the water moves!

A Special Day!

A random picture, but what is it?
Look closely, it is not what it seems.

I should have written this last Thursday, for last Thursday was a special day.
A very special day, but one that is not really celebrated in the moors household.
This picture kind of sums up moors-daddy's sense of humour (and boy does he make me laugh!)

Yes, okay so it's a nail, but it's not just any nail
Oh no, it's a copper nail.
and why is that so important, how does that link to a special day.

Well moors-daddy and I met 17 years ago this coming September.
I had just turned 18.
We have been together ever since.
But last Thursday was our special day.
Our wedding anniversary
We had the longest engagement ever but finally got married.
And the nail, well I was impressed when he gave it to me, purely for the fact that he knew that nine years of marriage was celebrated in the UK with copper.
So it is a special nail.
Actually it had been in his pocket since he mended the tiles on the roof but.....!
It's the thought that counts!
We didn't celebrate it in any way, no presents (other than the nail!) and no cards. No posh restaurants, no anything.
Last year we went to Paris, and apparently moors-daddy is already planning next year, our tenth anniversary, so we will wait and see!

If you want to know what anniversary gifts are specified for each year check this out!

I need to Blog...........

I need to blog, I need to blog, I need to blog......

This has become a bit of a  mantra in the last couple of weeks.

I know I need to write, I have lots to write about but finding the time is proving both hard and quite stressful. If I had nothing to write about maybe I would feel better, but I do and I need to get writing..........

Life is stressful, not in a bad way, but I just always seem to be busy doing something. Work, work , work, whether school work or other, it just seems never ending, and then there is the boys. Finally back to routine, which is so much easier than the holidays, back to school and nursery.... and yes, Worm is still making himself sick when he gets there, and still doesn't sleep well at night. One day it WILL improve!

I am exhausted, tired and emotional.

I have no time for me.

This week in my four hours of freedom, I cleaned my lounge. Something that has needed to be done in a long time. There have been occasions, one in particular when Beanie has been brought back from a birthday party by a friend and I felt so embarrassed by the state of my house I didn't invited them in. On Tuesday I cleaned for three hours. Wiped, polished, vacuumed, wiped a bit more. The only thing I didn't do in there was move the sofas to get the toys out from underneath, purely because I need moors-daddy to help with that! It's clean and relatively tidy, but I could feel it bubbling......wanting to carry on, wanting to clean everywhere. I know that is not possible (time/children) but today I have started our en-suite. I have bleached the shower, scrubbed the tiles, cleaned the surfaces but it isn't perfect and that annoys me. Even as I sit here, with Monkey awake from a dream on the sofa in the lounge, with lessons tomorrow still to plan, I want to clean......

I feel it is getting worse.

Silent Sunday!

Pinterest Party 9

Well that is it. The Easter holidays are drawing (rather too quickly for my liking) to an end!
I have had a busy holiday, and have worked on other projects more than the blog, and actually am beginning to feel like I have lost my enthusiasm for it a bit. Thanks to the "out crowd" on twitter for keeping me going. What annoys me more, is that during this time I have come up with more writing ideas than ever, but just have no motivation to sit and write them, or should that be no time!
Pinterest has become a bit of a therapy as a result, I can spend hours on it looking at pretty and beautiful things and some that just make me laugh!

So this weeks theme........

What you do....
  1. Log in or set up an account on Pinterest.
  2. Then in the search bar type in the topic/theme for this week.

Okay, so a bit of a weird one, and if I am honest not something I like. Feet actually make me cringe quite a bit, but there are, as always, some amazing pictures on Pinterest.
So here is my picture and why I chose this one.......

Picture from Pinterest. Original Source.

This is an amazing picture and if you check out the original source you will find an array of other amazing feet pictures using stones. I love the blue one in this picture it really stands out. To be honest, I would love to find pebbles that look like something......

Where in the World are the Grandparents?

Grandpa Greyhair has been found.
I had forgotten about him and he had taken some time out,
at the bottom of my handbag for a couple of weeks!!
Today we went out with the boys for the day,
so we decided Grandpa should come to.

We went to the beach!
Grandpa did a spot of sun bathing!

He stood on  a pebble!

We nearly lost him as he blended in so well!

He enjoyed an ice cream!

 He explored the beach!

 and he admired the view!

Saturday is Caption Day!

Another Saturday is here,
you know what to do add your caption to the picture below of Worm on the swing!
then hop on over to Mammasaurus to check out the others.

The Baker Boys - Gingerbread Flowers

Written last Tuesday!
The little two had gone to Granny and Grandads. They always go every Tuesday, whether I am working or not. It gives me time to sleep and spend some one on one time with Beanie in the holidays.

Beanie had asked me if we could do some more baking, so I got down the Children's cookbook that they got last Christmas and told him to decide what he wanted to make before we did our Tesco trip so that we could get any ingredients we needed. The book is a great little kids cookbook from Usborne with some fab recipes in, a few that I was secretly hoping he would choose, but he settled on The Gingerbread Flowers. We did our Tesco trip and we bought everything we thought we needed. Then home, ready to bake the next morning.

When we started to get things organised for baking we looked through the ingredients, making sure we had everything - alas no plain flour-so a quick trip to our local shop/post office and then we were ready to start.
Firstly we had to add all the dry ingredients into a bowl. Beanie liked sieving the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon, and making a mess!

Then we had to add butter, chopped into small pieces and this had to be rubbed in. A new experience for Beanie, but as you can see from his face he loved it!

We then had to beat one egg and add this to the mix.

We mixed in the egg, but the dough mixture was really dry,
and it wouldn't combine to a dough ball,
so we added another egg!
Then we rolled out the dough until it was about 5mm thick and started to cut out our shapes.
Like we have a flower cutter in a house full of boys!
We found a heart and a star, and we used the sandwich cutters to make some dinosaurs and jigsaw pieces for the little ones!
They then had to be baked in the oven at 180 C for about 12-15 minutes.

First batch out of the oven!
I did ice them for the boys but I do at as they eat them, in case they go a bit soggy.
They have enjoyed them, but I think I would stick to my old gingerbread recipe in future!

I love the detail, the amount of time it must have taken to make them, they are so intricate, and beautiful too. What you will also notice if you look at my Pinterest Party board is that I struggled to come up with one picture this week, there are loads of beautiful eggs out there (so I sneakily pinned a few extra!!)

So what is your favourite egg picture. Find it, pin it and share it! and then link up below.

"What is that?"

Just a quick one today, but something that made me chuckle away to myself.

This afternoon, Beanie, my mum and I walked the dogs on the moors. My mum is dog sitting my brothers and the two of them get along fine.
We had walked up towards the brow of the hill when Beanie spotted a horse standing in front  of us.

Beanie : "Why does that horse have five legs?"
Me: "That's not a leg!"
Beanie: "What is it then?"
Me: "What do you think it is?"
Beanie: "I don't know."
Me: "That's his willy."
Beanie: "But that's huge!"....."It nearly touches the floor!"
Me: "Yep".
Beanie: "But why is it so big?"
Me: "It just is!"

We carried on walking, with Beanie glancing back to look at the horse!

Fussy Eater = Non Sleeper

3 and a half years.
That is how long it's been going on.
Night after night.
It drives me insane.

Not one of my boys has slept though the night before the age of 2 and a half.

Worm, at 22 months still wakes at least twice a night. Sometimes it's every hour. I spend all night going up and down the stairs. Sometimes I may get a few hours sleep and that now seems to mess me up a little. On the night they go to the in-laws, I sleep, but I always feel worse in the morning. My body just isn't used to it. How do we cope? How does our body adjust from eight hours before children to 3-4 once they are here? Are some of us better at getting up, more prone to waking. Moors-daddy never wakes unless kicked into action, and that is only when I have had enough, and I mean had enough. Some times it gets to me. Lately it is getting to me more and more.
Someone once said to me that I can cope on only a few hours sleep, I agreed with them though deep down I wanted to scream that I have no bloody choice. If I don't get up, no one will. I can't let them scream. Every night is the same. 1am, 3am and 5am. Sometimes for a cuddle, sometimes a drink. They have all done it. Each one progressively worse.
Why do they do it?
I am not sure but I think that Worm's lack of food has a lot to do with it. Monkey was a fussy eater, but nothing like as bad as Worm. It doesn't matter what you give him, if he isn't in the mood it's on the floor in seconds. One day he'll eat it the next time he won't. Some days hardly a morsel touches his mouth, others he eats well, but these days are very rare. He now has a cup during the day in an attempt to cut down on his milk, hoping it would make him eat more. It hasn't.
Monkey got better, but some days he still refuses to eat his dinner and goes to bed without having had an evening meal. It doesn't bother him one bit. Monkey sleeps well whatever, snoring as soon as his head hits the pillow! So I know that one day Worm will also start to eat properly and that the should mean he will also sleep well too.
One day I know I will be moaning at them to get out of bed at midday, if I too am not still in mine! But at the moment I long for sleep, or a nap on the sofa!

Pinterest Party 7

Photobucket

Week 7 of the Pinterest Party is upon us! Thank you to all of you that have joined in so far. In  my blogging book I have a long list of themes that I can use but if any of you have any that you would like to add then please get in touch. I am constantly thinking of news one, but ideas are always appreciated.
If you haven't joined in before it really is simple and a good way of finding new boards to follow. Just follow the rules and check out the others on the linky below.

This weeks theme is the first of the the colour themes and I thought I would start with the girlie one!

What you do....
  1. Log in or set up an account on Pinterest.
  2. Then in the search bar type in the topic/theme for this week.
  3. This weeks theme is Pink.
  4. Browse through the pictures until you find ONE picture that you like the most.
  5. PIN IT onto your board (Pinterest Party- you may have to create one)
  6. Blog about your choice of picture. Making sure you follow the RULES.
  7. Link back to moors-mummy in your post
  8. Return here and add your blog to the linky.
  9. Have a look at the others and comment on their blogs and follow on Pinterest!
  10. Enjoy it and come back next Sunday!
So here is my Pink picture, why have I chosen it, well I would hop it would be obvious as the mum of three boys. I will admit I long for a girl, but know the chances are slim even if I was allowed another baby! Our house is very blue, and until last year I use to think that at times it would be hard to realise that a woman actually lived in it! I have started to add some 'girlie' things' but there is no little pink! I would love a girl so that I had an excuse for some of the lovely pink things that are out there. Being able to accessorise a room with beautiful things, instead of Star Wars is just such a dream! But even little things I would just love to buy and there are some things just make me smile, because they are subtle, feminine and PINK! (and I love Buttons!!)
